The Health Ministry said it has received the Asia Pacific Action Alliance on Human Resources for Health (AAAH) award in recognition of efforts to strengthen the Maldives’ primary health care system.
According to the ministry, the award was presented at the 14th AAAH conference in Bali, Indonesia. Health Services Director General Dr. Ahmed Ashraf received the award on behalf of the ministry.
The ministry said the award recognises work carried out with the World Health Organization (WHO) to strengthen primary health care in the country.
It described the honour as important progress toward ensuring complete health services for the public.
The ministry also noted that President Dr. Muizzu received a special award from the WHO Director-General on 29 May this year for anti-tobacco work.
