The Ministry of Higher Education today announced the opening of applications for 22 scholarships to pursue higher education at Al-Azhar University in Egypt. According to an announcement by the ministry, these opportunities include five scholarships in the fields of Law and Sharia, and 17 scholarships in Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Statistics.
Criteria for applicants include being a Maldivian citizen and not having reached the age of 30 by August 15th. Additionally, if an applicant has taken a student loan facilitated by the Ministry, they must be consistently repaying the loan.
Furthermore, applicants must submit copies of educational certificates and transcripts bearing the MQA seal, a copy of a good conduct certificate issued by the last school attended, and a medical report including HIV, AIDS, and TB tests.
Applications for these scholarships will be processed through the Ministry of Higher Education's "Kuri" portal.
The Ministry stated that the deadline for online application submission is 1:30 PM on August 6th. The Ministry also added that hard copies of required documents must be submitted by 11:00 AM on August 12th.
