President Dr. Muizzu has said that by 2028, housing will be secured for most people in the Maldives.
Highlighting the government's housing policies, he said finding a lasting solution to the housing difficulties faced by the public is one of the most important goals of this administration.
The President noted that housing projects being developed in the Greater Malé area and across the islands under the government's housing programme are progressing strongly. He also said the government is arranging the systems through which people will receive housing once those projects are completed.
He said special priority is being given to areas where the housing problem is most severe, and work on releasing flats and plots is being organised. He also said arrangements will be put in place to provide easy loans to those who want to build homes on their own land.
The government's goal, the President said, is to deliver a lasting and robust solution to the Maldives' housing problem before the end of this term, and he expressed confidence that as this work is completed, a large number of families will receive their own housing.
