Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is set to make an official visit to the Maldives. This will be his first official visit to the country.
The visit is aimed at further strengthening the long-standing ties between the two countries and expanding cooperation across various sectors. Official talks between the leaders of both nations are expected during the Malaysian prime minister’s visit.
Political, economic and trade relations between the Maldives and Malaysia continue to grow strongly. Many Maldivians travel to Malaysia especially for education, healthcare and tourism, and the visit is expected to boost cooperation in these areas.
President Dr. Muizzu also recently made an official visit to Malaysia and held talks with the country’s leadership to further strengthen bilateral relations. During this visit too, agreements covering areas of mutual interest are expected to be signed.
