After resigning as Health Minister, Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim has today also resigned from the post of Principal Secretary to the President on Policy and Manifesto, which he had been holding at ministerial rank in the President's Office.
Chief Government Spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu) confirmed that Nazim submitted his resignation this morning.
Nazim was appointed to this President's Office post in early June, following his resignation as Health Minister. He resigned as Health Minister on 14 April as part of the cabinet changes made after the government's setback in the local council elections and referendum held that April. Many of those who resigned from the cabinet at that time were appointed to other senior government posts.
Nazim, who also served as Health Minister under former President Abdulla Yameen, held a senior post in the President's Office at the start of this government as well. He was then appointed Health Minister on 30 September 2024. Attempts to reach him today for comment on the direct reason for resigning from the President's Office post went unanswered.
