Future Development Corporation (FDC) has said that more than 500 flats in the Amaan Udhares and Amaan Dhoodhi social housing towers in Hulhumalé are not paying rent as agreed.
According to FDC figures, 3,362 units are paying rent on schedule, while 564 units are still not making payments in line with their agreements.
The corporation has urged residents to pay on time as agreed so that social housing services can continue on a sustainable basis.
Aside from rent arrears, FDC said it is also receiving complaints about residents making loud noise that disturbs neighbours and about breaches of common building rules.
It said two noise complaints have been reviewed and resolved, while investigations into two further cases that could not proceed earlier because official information was lacking are still ongoing.
FDC said it takes such issues seriously in order to maintain a comfortable, safe and secure environment for everyone, and stressed that full compliance with building rules by all residents is essential.
